Default 2 Honda's Stolen on 11-5-05 !!!! Help!!!

Good luck with it all...this is where ATV insurance really pays. I only pay $150 per year for theft Fire liability.

I've got a solution to your payment problem with Honda, I think.

Go through the corporate Honda website and find the email of the highest executive you can. Send him/her an email explaning your situation. Watch as the underlings scramble to make things right.

I've done this before in other situations with other companies and it really does work.

i really appreciate all the responses to the post...
we live in a small town so if whoever took them ride them anywhere near here they will get caught...
everyone in town knows what i had and what they look like...
I just want to find out who did it, doesn't matter if i get them back...as long as i can find out who did it and can prove it, then they will have to pay for them not me.

the idea about emailing the honda exec. sounds like a plan, i willmost likely do that in maybe a month if i don't think im making progress...it would be so cool that if i do email them that everyone who reads this thread sends one too saying how it is BS the way they won't help someone out in a pinch....

i'll look into it...

If honda said that to me I would just let it go back. It comes off in 7 years .

As far as the quads go. They will change the vin numbers or swap out the frame and sell them.. Sometimes they end up on ebay being sold for parts.

you could take out a separate policy on your lawnmower if you wanted (tell me they wouldn't sell you a separate policy for anything!!), but that's covered if someone steals it.

Check your insurance thoroughly, if you take the position that the ATV services the property, it should be covered. You ever pull a branch into the woods? A trailer with dirt?

You have to be wise to how you report it to your insurance!! Don't make it easy for them to screw you. If it is on your property, it should be covered regardless of if it serviced the property!!! If it is off the property you need a separate policy.

If a tree fell on your car, would your auto policy cover it or your homeowner's??? (my homeowners would cover it). There are conditions on your policies that you should be aware of. Don't just take your agents word for it.

Changing the vin's is easy if you can weld. You basicly cut out the parts with the serial numbers on them. Weld in new metal and blend it in so you can't see it has been repaired. Stamp it with the new #'s and paint it and your done.

My grandpa had a chevy truck stolen. htey changed it to a GMC. The only reason they got caught was because they got busted for drugs and couldn't show where the truck came from. They had changed the vin but didn't change some barcode somewhere that had the real numbers on it.
