Default Saying bye bye to my 250R

Im probably going to be called a hypocrite for this, but I put my 250R up for sale today. I am, and will forever be, a 2-stroke lover. But I found a dealer in my area selling '06 450Rs for an incredibly low price.....I mean 400EX low. And with all of the improvements they made to the 450r, its hard to pass up. Honda cleared up everything I disliked about the 450R. I hate to do it, but a new bike with a warranty is appealing. The 250R will always have a place in my heart, but times are changin'.

PS. I'll be gettin' the kickstart model!

I would definatly re-think that decision if I were you. I wouldn't get rid of that bike for a new 450..

I'm also selling my 250R to get an '06 450R. I just don't ride my R enough and all my friends have gotten out of the drag racing scene. I'm buying the 450 primarily for trail riding...and the occasional drag race in the sand

Now what are you going to do about your screen name? 1bad450r is already taken.

I don't blame you man, even tho I love 2-strokes and would like to have a 250R, you just can't beat technology. If you don't have the money to have both, I'd go for the 450R.

Have you guys put much seat time in on a 450R? I think you will be disappointed that it does not handle anywhere near your 250R. Be prepared to spend some cash to get the power and handling your expecting.

Yes I have. While a 250r will turn on a dime, the 450r is more predictable in the corners. Which in turn will let you put down faster lap times and it will not wear you out as bad.

there comes a time when somthing gets old the coolist 250r is still almost 20yrs old. in the last 5 to 6 years lots of quad r&d has been done. that is just somthing you cant compete with a 20year old machine. you are doing the right thing. I was at the short track saturday night and the 4 strokes dominate even the fastest 250r

Judging from your photos you could keep the 250r and just buy another 450r...or 2.
