Rincon/Rubicon dilemna
#11
Samee,
Thanks for your in depth reply!
I love what I hear about the Ruby but I just know that I won't do any kind of work with it at all. (the only even remote possibility of work would be a few snow plows of a flat subdivision driveway) I am looking for a great trail riding machine that will do everything and be comfortable.....I really wanted efi and irs but I guess I could give them up, although I am not sold yet on doing so. I believe you that 500cc is plenty for most jobs unless you are a huge power and speed junkie.....just not sure if I would give up irs and efi......(I like the 3rd headlight too that the Rin doesn't have)

I have owned two Rincons for two years, and unless you plan to use your quad as a farm implement, I would not even think twice. I'd buy the new Rincon. As far as the rubicon going places the Rincon can't,,,,,absolute baloney. Not even close to true.

JayDeeCoy, how does your Rincon compare to your Outlander 800? I would be interested in the Rincon if it had a locking front end and engine braking. What do you think are the Pros and Cons of the 2 machines? I haven't ridden the Rincon, but I have ridden the Outlander 800---WOW!

trailblazer; i sold my 450 03 it rode to hard, I took a 300 $ loss gonna get the rincon, Get a rincon , downhill braking is a big need for woman and inexperienced riders, if you can t get down a hill using only brakesthen...... I like to ride 20 to 35 mph and after 1 year on the 450s it was bang bang bang and I didnt want to rideanymore. It was good for creeping along 5mph Seems like you want the best for you, If you dont like the rincon then sell it &get the rubi. The tranys are basically excllent quality, but the rubi can go all day dragging logs out of the forest the rincon would get pretty stressed,
I was very happy with my 450 xcept for he dang ride, felt every dang bump, I weigh 170 lbs, if you weigh 300lbs the rubi will absorb a bunch. If you are gonna creep along al day long in low gear you wont notce the difference in the 2 bikes. Hondas resell easily take a small loss if ya dont like the riniand buy the rubi. anymore questions just ask.

Also TB; put some bighorn radials on your bike will help the ride and feel a lot beter all around, you can put them on factory rims easily. If you rode the 2 bikes for one year you woulddefinitly know wich is for you. So buy the rini and tae care of it and sel it if you dont like it. My450 was useless to me for overland 30mph on descent backroads, cause Il like a comfy cruising ride and not beat to death.
