Is it worth getting the honda extended warranty
#12
i would say yes only because i had a potentially expensive problem with my rancher 00' 4x4 esp. the angle sensor went bad with less that 300 miles on it and the 6 month coverage was 3 weeks over. i talked to a few people at the local honda shops and word was that it sucks to be you with a problem like that.(my bike wouldn't shift). so after trying to figure it out and thinking my computer was fried i took it to the dealer and they fixed it for nothing, they got honda to cover the repair. this was the first time i ever had any kind of problem with a honda and i'm happy it worked out. if i had known about buying the extended coverage i don't think i would have anyway because i belived honda made stuff that lasted. but now with all the electronics on these machines, it might be worth it. later - dana

I bought a 450-s in 98 and got the warranty because I knew I was going to put on lots of miles and at that time I wasn't confidant of the electronic speedo package. The cost was $300. Since I've logged 13000+ miles, the warantee has fixed three wheel bearings, and put in a new rear end that would of cost $560. When I get my Rubicon I will consider the warranty, and wiegh it against the cost. By the way, the speedo has never given any problem.
