Thank you Foreman Dan......that is ALL I was trying to convey. Not that there is anything wrong with wanting the best or the most power or a Bomb 800.....nothing against that at all!!!

...just that to say that a 680cc....700cc quad is underpowered is a little crazy, especially at your weight. I don't know though maybe you have been racing jet cars across the salt flats at mach 19 1/2..... in all seriousness it sounds like you ride alot and have a lot of experience...I just don't see that big of a machine not being able to take you anywhere you want to go at as fast as you want to go. You said that you ride trails.....what is the average speed you travel? Do you guys constantly drag race?

Also, I don't think it is fair to compare outgrowing a 250cc and a 300 and change cc quad to blanket statement that the next quad has to be an 800 because you don't want to be underpowered....anything 500cc or above should get the job done meaning that 99% of the time on the trails, fields, mountains, creeks.....you can only go so fast and utilize so much of the atv's power.

Again, though....that was my ONLY lonely little point! Enjoy your quad that you buy and I share your enthusiasm of atving and can't wait to buy mine.....that is what this is all about!!!

I ride a jet ski that is 800cc's. Have no problem w/ that. I can ski black diamonds. I am not saying that a 650cc is not going to be powerful enough for me I am just saying that I have been doing ALOT of research and everyon who owns a Rincon pretty much says it's sluggish, the KQ's have the filter & blue smoke issue, and if I get a Bomb I will need a skid plate asap. The 650 Outlander is going to weigh 10 more lbs than the 800 and having a 605 Lb Prarie land on me I can live w/o the extra 10Lbs and less power. I see your points and I do not want to get hurt either but I do want a 650cc+ quad and I like the IRS, ERI, visco lok features of the bomb. I also like the looks of the XT package the best out of everything that I have looked at. I may not ever even use all of that power, but it will be there if I ever do need it. I still have not made up my mind 100% as to what I am going to get, but that is what I am leaning towards.

a jet ski that is an 800cc? They don't make them much smaller....not a good comparison....neither is skiing as you aren'y harnessing the power of a huge engine. I've had a very powerful waverunner and can ski. You make a mistake on a waverunner going to fast and 99/100 you are fine hitting the water. Also, it takes a lot more force to push a boat through water and that's why most jet ski's aren't less than 800cc's...or at least close.

Get what you want, I'd could give two *****....I have said that over and over. You are misguided though by a few unhappy folks on the KQ's blue smoke (yes it is unfortunate but it is fixable for $30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and some saying the Rincon is sluggish??? Have you ridden it?????????

You never have answered or responded to the weight question....but that's ok. You look to be in great shape and I have always complimented your abilities.......but you just can't say that a 100lb person riding trails NEEDS an 800cc machine. You can want it......but you don't NEED it.

Buy what you want just don't say that a Rincon isn't going to pull you up a mountain faster than it is almost possible to hold on and do it safely.....especially on trails. I rode an AC 300 that pulled my 6'5 250lb self up a huge hill here at 30 mph. That is 1/2 the machine and double the weight.

Just to let you know, I am not bashing any quad. I have ridden a 650 Bomb Outy. I ran across some guys from ATV Rider that had it before it was even released. They also had the 680 Rincon. They let me ride both. I loved the Rincon. The bomb was almost scarry. I have never ridden anything that pulled like that. I talked to them for a while. They were actually testing some tires for Maxxis. They said that they brought out their favorite quads to test them on. The Rinny and the Bomb. I talked to them about reported sluggishness by some people. They said that it was not bogged down at all and they rode both like they stole them.
I thought the bomb seemed more like I was driving it remotely. It had no steering feedback.

I have not had the privelege to test ride any of these yet. I have only been getting my info from the net and other ATV owners. You do have a good point. Test riding them all would be my best bet. Unfortunately not many places let you ride before you buy

To echo the comments of Stocks, there is a huge difference between a jet ski and an ATV. They are in no way comparable, so why make the comparison in the first place?

That's like saying you have been driving racecars for 10 years, so you should be able to handle racebikes just as easily. They are in no way related, so being experienced on the racecar does not make one ready for a racebike.

Hey, you can do what you want, but be warned that somebody who weighs a little over 100 lbs. will have a hard time handling one of these beasts. That is a fact.

I do not agree if I had never ridden a jet ski or skied I do not think I would be able to ride an ATV half as good as I do. I do think that riding my ATV is similar to jet skiing and I am not afraid to go down the hills since I can ski. Someone who has never done either of these things would probably be perfectly happy w/ my TRX250EX or the 360 Prarie. I however am not.

Megan,

In all politeness, I think you are missing the point. There are 1500cc wave runners and jet skies because of the drag that water puts on an engine....the biggest ATV is an 800cc....you CANNOT compare the two. I had a Sea Doo that was VERY FAST and if I fell no big deal....I wasn't going over rocks, climbing mountains.......

I agree that skiing MAY help you have less fear going down a hill but the comparison stops there. You have to harness a 650 lb machine that can go over 70 mph over controlling YOUR body (all 100 lbs)....that just isn't a good comparison.

All I am trying to say is that there is NO WAY a 680cc Rincon will not take you where you want to go as fast as you want to get there with some left over. NO WAY. If you don't believe that then go ride one and run it up a huge hill as fast as you can......or maybe a little faster....log onto ridethered.net and ask HUNDREDS of Rincon owner's that way double what you do.

WE AREN'T QUESTIONING YOUR ABILITIES.
