hello all, new to the board. A few questions for the more knowledgable ones out there.
I tried to start my 2005 450R earlier but it doesnt seem to start. I had the key in the on position, in neutral, cluth depressd, choke on, i even added more gas. It doesnt even sound like its going to turn over. I called the dealership where i bought it and they said i need to bring it in to get the carb cleaned out, he said it was filled with dirt but i dont think that could be in because i hardly rode the thing, only had it for 4 months. He also said after its been sitting around the alcohol evaporates from the gas and he said he guarantees that if i drain my gas out now it will be"**** yellow" instead of clear. Is there any other options i could try before bring it to the dealership? that is my last option.
thanks in advance!

There is a screw at the bottom of the float bowl that is accessable with a screwdriver in the horizintal position. Put a clean light colored drain pan or glass under the hose and open the screw. The float bowl will drain and you wil be able to see if any dirt comes out.
Considering that you have 4 month old gas, I would strongly recommend that you drain the tank and add new fuel. This is easily done by removing the supply hose from the carb, open the gas valve and let it flow. Keep an eye on this gas in case there is dirt in the tank.
