Default Rancher 350ES Reverse

My friend has a 2001 Rancher 350ES 2x4 and his reverse has quit working with the Electronic Shift, it will go into reverse using the manual lever but will not when using the ES. Has anyone else had a problem with this or know what can be done to fix this?

Default Rancher 350ES Reverse

i can tell you how to exactly fix it,

there is a reverse switch on the es, which sits down below the pull start on the motor, it is a single wire, green if i remember correctly, pull this wire off the reverse sensor clean it and put it back on with dielectric grease, i had the exact same problem

Little Bill is right. The reverse wire on the bottom of the engine looks alot like a small spark plug wire that goes into the engine. If it is broken, dirty, or wet you will not be able to shift into reverse.
