Default Warn 1.5 on an 05 Rancher 4x4

I had emailed them through their Ebay sight and asked about listing one. They just replied and said they were in stock with free shipping so I just called the store and placed the order over the phone, Tuesday, and the winch arrived today. 450.00 was teh 3.0 xt winch only, no mount. I had previously won a Warn mount for the Rancher on Ebay. This is one good looking winch, too bad it has to be hidden up in the frame At least their is ampple fender clearance so it'll still be seen.

When I was compariong prices between Website and their Ebay buy it now auctions, the Ramsey's were typically 10 bucks cheaper, I never checked on a Warn winch, price wise.

I was pretty happy with their service, too. Next time I'll do the 3.0xt like you did, though.

I don't have WARN but I do have two SUPERWINCH T1500s. One on my 2001 honda Rancher 4x4 and one on my 2005 Honda Rancher2wd. I have strapped two formens together and was able to pull them both out at the same time.

good luck too ya but thats insane to pay 450 bucks for a atv winch, u literally could buy 6 of mine for the price of yours, crazy if u ask me, and i see warn winches blow up just as much as the cheap ones. good luck with your purchase though, i'll let ya know when my hd winch fails

The winch istelf was less than 50 bucks. I just opted for the contactor wiring asembly that cost more than the winch.

OK so we hyjacked your thread, hehe not the first time. Bill, nope don't play as hard I guess. Maybe I'm to lazy to clean them up or want to spend more time riding than stuck. I opted for the contactor because I have a 25' control cable, so I can be back at the boat or out of the way to winch. Less bulky cable to. Actually i think I need to upgrade the web site pics, different cable.

$450 for a winch? Includes the hardware? My truck winch was less that that. Wow I only paid $3000 for my rancher as a whole.

Regarding wiring up the contactor, the Ramsey handle bar kit (comes with extra goodies) has a schematic. I think I also downloaded one from the web site. The contactor lets you use a low amperage switch and wiring to operate the winch.

Can we also hyjack this thread some other way, how about jetting?

Hyjack away, just so long as I get some good info out of it! But, bascially what it boils down too is, I'm "crazy" and "insane", and you are just "stupid" (for getting that blasted contactor that cost more than your winch!) I paid 4600 with tax for my Ranchers times 2, so that right their indicates I needed a more expensive winch.

P.S. I opted for a high dollar winch since my truck(s) don't have one.

I don't think any different of those who choose other products that differ from what I chose, nor do I concern myself with the amount of money a person spends of their own stuff. If it truly is to each their own, you would take the same approach and not ridicule another person’s purchase. Its all good man, enjoy

Here is a guy that is in need of your winching experience, Venom winch bound up on first try, having zero experience with a winch, I would be interested in the advice you would give him.

if the cable came off the drum, and then he didn't spool it back up correctly??? What would you expect your 450 dollar one would have the same problem, not to mention if it came out of the drum, he backed the cable way way to far out, you need at least 3-4 rolls on the drum before pulling, the screw that holds the cable is simply to keep it on the drum not do any type of pulling. The gentlemen sounds like he has 0 experienced with winches and that was the cause of his problem
