Are you kidding? A raptor 350 is only a warrior with new plastics and a few minor tweaks. My warrior can burn a raptor 350 easily, I was beating 400ex's even before I got the high compression piston and ported head! Once I get it back together it's really going to be a beast!

could you beat a stock 450r or a 660 or 700r. how much of a power and speed boost did you notice when you put your mega max 2 on and was the recon jetted?

I'll probably be at about the same power level as a z400 with the mods in my signature. It would take a lot more money to get it to the level of a 450 or 700.

The megamax didn't give a huge gain, but after it was rejetted it was enough of a difference that I could feel it, it definitely gave it a little more grunt off the line and better throttle response. I don't know what other exhausts there are for the warrior currently, but if you can find one other than fmf, dg, or cobra i'd recommend that instead. I had trouble with the megamax because the bolts seized up and stuff broke off inside the can, so I couldn't repack it or retune the discs, which sucked because it really needed repacked with all the water I rode through, and it was burning oil bad for a while.

how loud did the mega max make your recon? and what things would i need to add to keep up with a stock raptor/warrior or blaster?

The megamax is tuneable, so depending the amount of discs on the end it can be as quiet as a golf cart, or with all the discs on it's still not too loud, probably about twice as loud as stock.

I don't know if you could make a recon as fast as a warrior, no matter what you do with the stock 250 engine. It's possible to use the head, and an aftermarket cam off a 250ex for a LITTLE more power, but you'd end up putting more money and work into it than it's worth, and it still wouldn't be competetive. My recon with pipe, filter, and jet kit couldn't keep up with my brother's 250ex when it was stock. My brother's 250ex with a wb e-series and k&n couldn't even touch my warrior when it was stock. My suggestion is to keep the recon and have fun with it until you decide you want something faster, then trade it in on a sport quad. You could put a streetbike engine in a recon and it still wouldn't be competetive with sport quads because of the poor suspension and narrow width. The recon is a great quad and sometimes I wish I would have kept it, but it's not worth modifying past the basic bolt-ons.

if i put a street bike engine on the recon wouldnt i need to make new engine mounts and stuff. becasue my dad has a bmw 1000 and the motor is shaft driven so would that work?

It would take some major work, there's not enough room in the recon's frame for a big engine like that, so the frame would have to be modified, it would just be a lot of work, money, and time involved. And whenever you put a streetbike engine in a quad you have to change the gear ratios for it to work efficiently off road, and with shaft drive that's not possible.
