Default recon going trough mud

There's a few problems with making them fit. The seats are different, so the curve around the rear fender is also different because of that. The ex also has a larger gas tank, so it would be a tight fit around the tank. All the mounting brackets are in different locations too, so you'd have to make your own brackets. I wouldn't try swapping them, I think the recon is a better looking quad than the 250ex to begin with.

it's a naturally formed pit that got deeper and deeper as people kept riding it. That was at a state park I used to ride at, the place I ride at now has pits that make those look like a bottle of water dumped into a flower pot. There's one that is about a quarter mile long and 50 yards wide during the rainy parts of the year. It's nuts! To bad my warrior's tires suck in the mud so I wouldn't have a chance of making it across. That's one of the reasons i'm thinking about getting a set of sur-tracs for it.

I'm pretty sure the 250ex a-arm guards will fit on the recon, I compared the front suspension between my recon and my bro's 250ex and everything looked the same except the shocks.

I've seen the 250ex and it looks cool, but I think if I owned a 450r i'd be pissed off that it looks the same. The zuki looks sweet, I can't wait to see what happens when the aftermarket starts putting out stuff for them. I wouldn't want to own one yet though, suzuki always ends up with major problems turning up during the first model year. It took them 2 years to correct the problem with the z400's frame bending, and now there's 2 model years of them out there with magnesium covers that are getting eaten through by the coolant, and engines are getting destroyed because of it. One of the things that I liked about the warrior when I bought it was that they were out since 1987, so yamaha had a chance to wait for problems to turn up and correct them.

yeah,I have hear that about the z400s. I was lookin through a magazine and saw anarticle on how to update your quads looks and saw a honda recon and they said that you would be able to switch a 2004 recons front fenders with a 2006s to make it look like the new rincon, can you do this cause if you can i would want to do that so i could update the styling.by the way are you ever going to get a new recon? just for riding around. Also highlifter makes a lift kit for the recon would this make the recon more tippy and would it flip over easier going up a hill?Ever think about entering your warrior in a race like a hill climb or somthing?

I doubt i'll ever have a recon again, maybe in many years once I have my own kids and they're ready to ride, but not before then probably. If the magazine said you could put the newer style fenders on I don't see why you couldn't, once again this is just my opinion, but I like the older style plastics better, i'm not much of a fan for the rounded style fenders that most new quads have. But hey, to each their own, do what you like the most.

A lift kit would make it more tippy in corners, but if you added wheel spacers it would be wider and counteract the tippiness caused from the lift.

I've toyed around the mx tracks before, no serious racing, but i'd like to enter a few hare scrambles and poker runs this year. It'll all depend on my work schedule. I'll be graduating from ITT and getting a full time job in 3 months, so i'm not sure how it's all going to work out yet.

would it be hard to put wheel spacers on a recon or should i let the dealership put the lift kit and wheel spacers on the recon? what are you studing at itt. Also you said that you cant go through that deep of mud well arnt those holeshot tires on your warrior? All the sport quads i have seen that have holeshot tires can go trough any mud pit a 2 wheel drive quad can go through. I saw these real cool plastics for a warrior if you would be interesed they are from maier at www.jlatvproducts.com woulnt wheel spacers make the quad handle better?

Wheel spacers are usually a do-it-yourself thing, there's different types, but the easier ones just bolt right on like the wheel does. They will give you some better cornering and stability

My tires are holeshot/razr knockoffs, the mud packs in between the lugs and the whole tire turns into a smooth ball of mud with no traction at all becuase the lugs are too close together to clean out. They're ok tires, but muddy and wet conditions are definitely their weakness.

I'll keep my stock fenders, those maiers cost way too much, and I like the way my warrior looks because it has a unique look, all these newer sport quads look very similar, and I like to be different. The sleeper effect of the warrior's old school fenders is also great when you get to see the look on the guys face when you burn his 400.

I was just out riding. We just had three days of rain and it was muddy. I hate my stock tires because once they turn in to a ball of mud i cant go any where or steer. You are right all the sport quads are starting to look the same now. Like the 450r I think last years model looked better than this years because it was diffrent . Have you seen the new polaris outlaw with IRS. That will be a cool quad to ride though it might handle diffrent then straight axle quads. I found some wheel spacers in 3 and 5 inch wich sould i get and rember i plan to put a 2inch lift kit on it also
