What size are the stock tires? Aren't they 22-7-10? 10 inch front wheels are a common size, you shouldn't have any trouble finding tires for them.

i have an 05 rancher 4x4 and a 00 recon

a stock recon vs a stock 250ex the 250ex will win in a drag

my recon did decent in the mud but the 4x4 sure is nice

Of course the recon will lose against the 250ex, it's the same engine, but tuned and geared for performance on the 250ex, and the ex weighs 50 lbs less. That shouldn't be a surprise to anybody.

 

but hen you could say if you took the lights,racks and put lighter tires and wheels on it and jeted it put an exhaust on with a k and n filter.It might be able to stay with it but if you bored it out it would pass it for sure.ever heard of a bore kit for a recon?

 

If you strip a recon down, and put aluminum wheels and better exhuast on it then basically you have a 250ex anyways, except for the 250ex still has higher gearing so it'll get better top speed no matter what. Nobody makes a big bore kit for a recon, but Powroll Performance makes one for a 250ex. You could contact them if you wanted to find out if it would work on a Recon.

 

why dump all that money into a Recon? save it and buy a bigger quad. thats what i did
