recon going trough mud

I know that guy was so cheeting. Heck I could even smoke a 450r If I had was going that fast before it started. I found sur-trak tires on www.rockymountainatv.com for 42 bucks thats a pretty good deal, Now comes the hard part.......................saving up for them.LOL.
But that guy on the 250ex had to have at least some type of mods on it because I know that a stock could not of gained speed that fast, nomatter what gear he was in.Would a pipe for a 250es fit a recon? And did you jet your recon? If you did how much of a power and speed increase did you notice if any? Would a recon be able to go in dunes i just wanted to know because It weighs as much as a sport quad does,Its practicly a 250ex in diffrent plastic.

I defintely had a few hp over a stock recon, exactly how much i'm not sure though. The only power mods I had were the filter, pipe, and it was rejetted.
There are a few differences between the 250ex and recon exhaust, the recon's muffler is longer than the ex's, and the ex's header is longer than the recon's. The overall length is the same, they just connect in the middle a couple inches apart. You could put a 250ex exhaust on a recon if you made a custom mounting bracket, or if you bought a full exhaust system it would work too.
A recon would be able to handle dunes without any problem, pretty much any quad can handle dunes as long as they have reasonably good tires.

Do you have to put a pipe on if you rejet or can you just jet it. Also do i have to buy a jet kit or can the dealer increase the jet for me so i can have more power. And do you know of any one who has aftermarket plastic for a recon or should i just spray paint the plastic a diffrent color?

The reason for rejetting is when you install mods that allow the engine to breathe better, like exhaust and air filter. To make the most power you need a specific air to fuel ratio, so when you allow more air into the engine you also have to increase the jetting sizes so your air to fuel ratio stays on target. Quads come from the factory jetted for the most power, so you can't really rejet without modifying it first, becuase your best jetting combinations are already set up.
As far as I know nobody makes aftermarket fenders for the recon, but you could purchase different color fenders directly from honda if you like one of the other colors they produced better. I had to replace my front plastic once because my brother plowed it into a tree and completely trashed the front end, and I have to say that honda's new plastics are very reasonably priced.
I wouldn't recommend painting them, most of the time the paint gets torn off easily, and ends up looking trashy in a few hours of woods riding. My cousin has repainted the fenders on his zuki more times than anybody can count, because whenever he has a rollover, rubs them against a tree or branch, or accidentally drags his foot across them the paint tears right off, and that's even with krylon fusion and properly prepped plastics.

Yeah I though so.Hey want to see a cool video of a rhino go to www.killeratv.com scroll down and look at the videos there are 3 videos of a rhino going through stuff i would not want to go trough on a brute force 750 or a brp 800! I am suprized that the rhino could make it through.Think my dads gator hpx 4x4 could make it through?

I have dialup to.I have net zero what do you have?Any way this rhino goes through pits that are over the hood and gets out.The Rhino also has mudzilla tires.Did you look at any of the pics on www.killeratv.com Think my recon could make it through?

that's some crazy stuff on killeratv, I don't think a recon could make it through anything that deep, considering that those heavily modified 4x4s were having a hard time with it.
And my dialup ISP is toast.net, I actually never heard of it until I did some research on reliablility and customer satisfaction, and found out that there were only 2 companies that actually had good ratings. Toast was one of them, and it had more included features, so that's what I have now. I used to have AOL, but it's like a virus more than an internet service.
