Good tires or lower pressure in your old ones, lean forward as far as you can, and make sure you're in a low enough gear that you don't bog down halfway and have to shift. Downshifting on steep hillclimbs usually doesn't turn out too good.

It's also a good idea to have some big *****, if you get halfway up and get spooked it could be a long way down.

Oh, I know this seems like common sense, but make sure you have some gas in your tank. I almost big the big one the other day on our biggest hillclimb because I didn't realize how fast my warrior has been going through gas with all my mods, but the tank was empty. I started making a run for the slope, and as I shifted into 3rd and got back on the throttle it went "BLAH" and just died because it ran out of gas, if it ran out about 5 seconds later I would have been about 50 feet up an 80 degree hillclimb, probably rolling back down end-over-end.

that is kinda what happened to my freind he was going up a hill on his dirtbike and his chain broke man was that scary to watch! When i lean forward my rear tires start to spn and not grab any traction. As for BIG ***** once i do the hill it becomes somewhat easier for me but its always that first glance then i get scared but once i force my self to do it most of the time it works out. How steep of a hill did you take your recon up and do you have any pics of your hills?

I never took the recon up any crazy steep hills like I do with my warrior, I ride a lot more aggressive and take more risks than I did with my recon.

I don't have any pictures of the hills, I have a few videos in my home movies but they don't do the hill justice. The biggest one is about 120 feet, it starts at a 70 degree angle, but by the top it's damn near straight up. There's only a few guys that have actually made it up, me on the warrior, 2 guys on 450r's, one on a 440ex, and a raptor made it halfway a few times but he couldn't keep it from pulling a wheelie after the halfway point.

oh yeah, and one nitro powered r/c car made it up once

A raptor could not make it up!what type was it? When I try to go up hills that are really steep i have trouble keeping the front end down then when i lean forward i lose my tration and my rear wheels start to spin out.And its no fun when your stuck on a hill that is about straight up.were those hills on your property or at a park?

The raptor 660 couldn't make it up because they are so light in the front end that all it wanted to do was wheelie, even trail riding it's hard to keep their front wheels on the ground sometimes.

That hillclimb was on one of my neighbor's property. I haven't been down there for a while, there's a bunch of fallen trees now, and the trails are all overgrown.

With bad tires that's what will happen, either it will want to wheelie or when you lean forward enough it'll want to spin. Once you get some tires with better bite you will have better luck.

eh... I hate blasters. They're too small and high maintainance, the shocks are like pogo sticks, and anything made before 2003 had the world's crappiest brakes ever. Not to mention they're kick start and no reverse, 2 other things that I think are a pain in the ****.

It would probably fit, but you would have to do all custom mounts, electrical system, and swingarm. It would totally kill the resale value because nobody wants a utility with a bike engine, and it would cost a lot to get it put in.
