Hey guys i just bought and installed an FMF Megamax pipe for my fiancee's 2005 TRX 250EX. The bike has a power adder kit installed and thats basically it for mods. I was curious if anyone has delt with this pipe. I was wondering what would happen if she ran it with no disks and no quiet core....as in engine damage or anything like that. also if i were to install the wrong amount of disks whether that would damage it. Its already installed and we are currently running it with nothing but just wonderd what the opinions of the riders were who has used this pipe. Thanks Guys.

 

how do you like it i was thinking about getting one but they are the cheapest exhaust i could find price wise so tell me what you think of it and is the power it gives it off noticeable

 

In my opinion its an awsome pipe for the money. The power is mainly greater in lower gears which is nice. I just put it on today so as far as on the trail my fiancee hasnt rode it yet. Her only complaint is when the engine racks off it pops, which i like haha. But with the 9 disks they give you it still sounds great and doesnt rack off as bad so thats what we are going with right now until it breaks in. But other than that man its easy as hell to put on its like a 2 minute job and it sounds good with a good increase in the lower gears.

 

it came with header pipe right tell me next time yall ride because it is cheap yet it might be better then some so plz post next time yall ride itat the trails

 

No it wasnt a complete system just the silencer. Its right off the stock head pipe.

 

if you take the quiet core insert out you will have to re-jet because it makes the pipe more free flowing there for it will make the engine run lean

 

Fewer discs tunes for more low end power, and it is quieter. More discs tunes for more high end, but it is louder. You must use a minimum of 8 discs. The discs are the spark arrestor, so without them you have none.......

We ride in the national forest, so I run 8 discs and the quietcore.

 

And, radical changes may require a rejet.

 

hey dude i have a 400ex with a mega max pipe on it and i have the bake plate off and all of the disks are off of it
all the disks do are make it queit or loud and trust me mine is loud
