Default cleaning a nasty engine

Some other people in my family tend not to spend a lot of time cleaning their quads, and the engines are all caked with icky-icky mud and who knows what else. I tried every available engine cleaner, greased lightning, simple green, and gasoline. Has anybody had any degree of success with any product that might get this junk off? I got the clumps off and all buildup is gone, it's just a light coating of baked-on dirt that I have to get off.

You might try brake parts cleaner. I use Amsoil powerfoam to clean my 250r motor after getting it muddy. It's a carb cleaner, but it's expensive.

Try this one. I find it works where many other fail. You just spray it on full strength (in the shade) and spray as neccessary to keep the area wet for 20 minutes. Then, use various brushes to scrub the engine and any baked on dirt film will come off.

Default cleaning a nasty engine

i just got a 06 ac 400 4x4 auto fis feb 7th 2006 and i'm tryin to keep it looking as new as i can, at least till i get it payed off like you i've tried just about everything to keep it as clean as i can. The only thing i haven't tried is Sonofagun tire and wheel cleaner i know it's safe on paint, cast aluminum wheels and rubber; it's the spray on and walk away type. it works great on tires and wheels, and leaves rubber protected from drie rot i think it would work on the frame and the body plastics, rubber on cv boots tie rods ball joints. Cost wise i think it's worth a shot. couldn't hurt, i think you can get the sonofgun at dollar stores for a dollar 99 cents at times. I hope this works for you i know i'm going to give it a try myself , and let me know it work's for you and i'll let everyone know the same if i get to try it first . Have a Good day and a better one tomorrow God Bless you all williebee.
