Rincon 680 trail performance
#42
rg, been a long time coming, hasn't it??? I went to Ted's Motorcycle World in Alton, IL last Sunday and looked around. They gave me a great quick quote on a Rincon sitting in the showroom but they also had a ton of quads (including Rincon's) in another building to look at. My wife said to me the other day to find the payment in the budget and I can buy one I am all for it but would kind of rather like to see if I get this next higher paying job. One job in particular that I have been working on since last Oct! I know I keep putting it off but I am happy to report that my love for ATV's hasn't gone anywhere!!!
Hope all is well! How's the King?

So you're sold on a Rinny, huh? I wish they had the updated one available when I was in the market, I may have given it a look. The King is great, though I haven't really gotten to ride it much this summer. I think I'm going to change that soon though as I'm just about ready to do the caster mod to take care of the steering and then I'm gonna hit the dirt hard to make up for my lost riding timeAlso, the VDI timing fix will be coming out in +/- 3 months, so I'm 110% stoked about that. Ready to show the buddies what this 700 single is REALLY made of. Got a friend with a Prairie 650 who thinks his bike is bad@$$ and it will whup up on mine. I'm gonna hold off riding with him until I get ahold of this new ECU cause he's got some power mods done too, and then we'll see

RG, Yeah sold on an '06 Rincon but need more seat time. I still have never ridden a KQ but I'd like too. One wrench in the plan is that family friend is in town that owns a Kaw dealership. He and his wife saw my wife for a brief second this evening and he asked if I bought one yet. My wife told him I was looking at a Rubicon (instead of Rincon, by mistake) and he said that's not his......joking around. Then he said, well, I can't svc it anyway. That right there goes to show that's where they make their money! I really don't want a Brute Force 650 or 750 but again if he cut me the deal of a lifetime then I think I would just have too! I will see him Sunday for the first time in at least 2 yrs and I will dig a little deeper on prices with him. Since I know him, he wouldn't svc it, and he wouldn't have had my sale anyway (because of his brand & he is 8-10 hrs away without meeting him at his lake house 3 hrs away) I'm hoping he would give it to me at cost. What I don't know though is whether that would even be worth it......but I will let you guys know!
Sounds like your King is running good then! Hopefully with that CDI you will beat your friend's 650. Got any new pics of the wheels, tires, winch, and bumper?

You know, I really do need to take pics of it since I've done the mods to it and I don't have any riding pics either. I'm going to start taking the digital with me. Problem is a lot of the time I ride solo so the action pics are going to be hard to come by, but yeah, I'll get some pics of the machine up after the caster mod.

I have an 05-650, the Rincon is a cruiser, not a racer and not a technical hill climber. IF you are into HARDCORE riding, lots of mud, rocks, hills etc. the Rincon isn't the best quad for you, I'd lean toward the Outlander 650. The Rincon is a comfortable ride that when stock is fairly tame, good quad for novice riders as well as non novice, sits a bit high but did I mention how comfortable it rides? You've never needed a LOCKER? Thats cool, but it just indicates that you've not taken it in real serious mud yet. My Rincon was OK in the thick stuff, but even with 589s on all four corners, you could >>>>>>>>>
I've never needed a locker but then again, after my first few trips through deep mud I decided mudding wasn't really my thing. I have no problem going through two feet of water at all though.
