i am wondering if anybody heard any thing about a 500ex or bigger and if you did tell me what you think.

 

yeah I heard that they are going to release a 1000cc v-twin. Their going to take the engine out of the RC-51 sportbike and put 4 wheels on it!! The report I read said it would have no problem doing 140mph!! I'm just kidding! I thought i would respond since no else is.

 

The engine will more than likely come out of the new 4stroke MX bike. People are saying it will be a pumped up 450 engine.

 

I hope so, the more sport quads the better!!!

 

I believe that Honda will try & counter the Raptor. After all its about making money & to get a Raptor there is a waiting list. There is much money in the sports quad market to be made. The 400ex sales have really dropped off. The 400ex is great quad but it can't compete with the Raptor.

The 250EX is a great idea for entry level sports quad. Now its time for Honda to concentrate on making a high performance sports quad.

 

the 400ex sales have not dropped of in indiana .....my dealer cant keep them in ....and they did have a waiting list early on raptor ..... .....they got 6 in took almost 2 weeks to sell ...not to impressed with them ....HONDA will come out with 1 to stop it ..........

 

I think this is a topic very worthy of replies. I know you all only asked for every ones 2 cents. But, I got about a million dollars worth to say!

If I were calling the shots at Honda I would have two new quads on the way!! After you see my simple ideas you'll think Honda is insane if they are not already working on them.

1st up is the all new TRX650EX-R. 400EX chassis + XR650R engine = liquid cooled big bore excitement at 395 LBS or less. MSRP $5,500.

2nd up is the all new TRX500R. 400EX chassis + CR500R engine = liquid cooled 2-stroke excitement like the old days at 340 LBS or less. MSRP $5,500.

...Oh, and add a reverse gear for gods sake!!! It don't weigh that much!

They would sell faster then Honda could build them! And, it could easily be done.

Maybe I'll open up shop to build and sell them at $12,000 LOL!!! Or maybe Honda will see this and steal my idea, eventually ending up in a huge lawsuit where they have to pay me royalties. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!LOL!!!

 

Living here in Southern California has it's percks. We have some of the best riding in the US and most of the major quad producers test projects here. I have a friend who works for HRC, the word is that there will be a TRX650EX soon! They are using the 650R liquid cooled engine, with a slightly larger chassis (than the 400ex) Weight is said to be around 410 lbs.

That's what a little birdie told me! ;-)

 

Hopefully they will, Honda has always made a great sport atv. though anyone looking for a 2 stroke will sadly be dissapointed. Though they still make 2 stroke dirt bike right? If they chucked the 250 2 stroke motor in a 400EX frame, the waiting list would be months if not a year to get one. how much lighter would the 250 2 stroke motor be over the 400 4 stroke?

 

i read at atvtires.com spy page that honda is making a 600ex......looks to me like a 400ex with a different sticker though
