Yeappers if it is dead center it should not lock up if it has sliped a notch somehow when it hits the end it will lock the whole thing up tight (bad business) if you discover it has locked up on ya, you may want to take a real good look at the shift motor.

 

I payed out for some extra help ... took the shift motor off, that piece of *hit i have been hitting for a couple years ... ALL MESSED UP IN THERE .... going to pick up the part; get chasing cows and letting kids do dounuts on it again .... PEACE ... THANK YOU

 

Ha man my name is Andrew I have a 05 Honda rancher es 4x4 and my does the same thing pute it on bricks and look under the engine their will be 6 or seven wires they are your problem get double d 40 or anything like that and a wire brush take each wire of and clean it and pute it back on tha should solve your problem the wires are black and have a rubber outside each wire stands for a certain gear if you need any more info call 1337-286-5020.
