Default Will 05/06 Rancher fit in truck bed?

I have a 05 Rubicon that I put into my Chevy S-10 but cannot close the tailgate. I have had a 2wd rancher in my truck with the tailgate closed. It is a pretty tight fit.

Great information just what I was looking for. The issue of it fitting into my truck with the gate closed may be the deciding factor between the 06 Rancher or the 06 Foreman. One of the reasons I want the gate to close is for I can haul a trailer with a friends ATV on it at the same time with out the gate interfering with the trailer. The laguard.com link looks like that might solve that issue even if I had to leave the tailgate down. I also noticed several folks metioned that they were backing 05/06 Rubicons into the 6.5 foot bed which let them close the gate. If thats works I that could really push me towards purchasing the 06 Foreman, any other input on the backing of a 05/06 Foreman size ATV in? Or the laguard.com device?

The LA Guard Dog works as advertised. The quad does not move. Another added bonus is that after you unload, you can run the Guard Dog thru your ramps and lock it down. You'll never have to worry about your ramps growing legs.

I just drove a Rubicon home from Tennessee last weekend in a Chevy pickup with 6.5 feet of available space in the bed ( a 1.5 ft toolbox is bolted into an 8 ft bed) and it fit with the gate up. I had to back it onto the bed and put a 4x4 block of wood under each of the front tires of the Rubicon. Worked like a champ.
