300ex problem HAS spark and fuel, but wont run!

seeing how it bump started...the cdi is good.

Guys, Just letting you know not to forget about me. LOL.
I am tring to get a fitting for my gauge to fit the 300ex spark plug, so i may get compression.

while youre waiting, check the valve clearance.

I bought a compression tester kit at Autozone that had all of the adapters. I think it's a 12mm that you need.

What does the valve clearence need to be?
Is there just a lock nut and screw to adjust?

I bought my gauge at autoZone can you send me a pic of your? May be I am looking at the wrong one.

Snap on wanted $40 just for the adapter. He has it, but I am gonna wait atleast to see if I can find it a pepbboys or Autozone.

Let me know. I did do the finger test and it seams low...

.

mine is having the exact same problem and I have given up, I was going to sell it when I bought my 450r's but it wotn start and I dont want to sell it like that.... I replaced the Plug the Coil The CDI becuse I had a parts bike and that didnt do it.... Cleaned the Carb, nothing.... it has to be the valve clearance I havent done that yet but its my only other otpion......... mine will start with a bump start

Both intake and exhaust clearance is .004 plus or minus .001. If you find the intake has no clearance...its likely the cause of low compression.

Here it is dude. I paid $40 for the entire kit! Autozone has two compression kits. The less expensive one doesn't have the fitting you need. This one does:
