what brand oil filter on 450r
#12
Just so I don't have to write it all over again, please see my comments about oils here: http://forums.atvconnection.com/mess...TARTPAGE/1.cfm
The engine side takes around a quart, with a filter change.
The trans side takes around 650cc's. DO overfill your transmission by at least 100cc's! A couple of the gears are lubed only by splash, and running additional oil guarentees that they will not be left high and dry.
Lots of posts on 450R maintenance, so do a search and read them all!

I've been running a whole quart in the Trans side with no problem. I dont even use the overflow hole, just pour a whole quart in and then I know I've over filled a little. No problems here.
Use synthic oil, your bud's are cheap or just dont know the benifits of synthic oil, just dont use synthic with Moley in the Trans side. This is what they have heard bad about synthic with Moley, it runis your clutch.
