Hey, I was wondering what you guys have heard about the 424 switch on a Rubicon('01). Seems that everyone I know who has put it on their Rubicon starts tearing their transmission out. At least five that I know of. I really want to put one on but...... These guys are hard on them also and might just be a coincident but what are your thoughts? Thanx

Thanks for your answer. But I'm thinking the problem lies with the Rubicon Hondamatic Tranny. It is alot different than yours for better or worse. I've had it for along time with no problems(I'm knockin' on wood right now). I really want to install the 424 but.....
THANKS

You're correct in that it replaces the shaft to the front differential. It has no bearing on what the actual transmission does. The only risk is switching it in and out of 4wd WITHOUT the front wheels turning and with the back wheels moving. That's when you'll get into trouble.
It's been a great investment for me. Definitely makes the atv feel sportier.
