Now is the Needle Needed?
I'm trying to trace down a problem I'm having with a knock. (Please read "Power Knock?") I got to thinking about things and I remembered something I want an opinion on.
I bought the DynoJet kit for my 400ex. While trying to install I could not get the one of the screws out (I almost rounded it out) that i needed so I could install the DynoJet needle. I just installed the Jet anyway without the needle.
What affect will this have?
Is this causing my knock that i'm speaking about in my other post? We did the same thing on my bro's.

The needle may have a different taper on it. The needle controls your fuel flow from 1/4 throttle to 3/4 throttle. If you can't get the mixture right with the needle you have then You wil have to change the needle with the one they sent you. Is the quad cutting out revving up fast, or fouling plugs?

Thanks for the reply Louie82. To answer your question no. It's not cutting out at all and my plug looks great. So I'm thinking I shouldn't fix whats not broken right? As for the problem with the knock I found out that my bro got the gas jugs mixed up and we put low octane fuel in our 400's. I fueled up with some fresh 91. I didn't notice the knock I was getting during acceleration before. Crossing my fingers and hoping that was the problem.
