Rancher skidplates????
#1
I am interested in putting some undercarriage protection on my Rancher. Anybody out there have any advice on which skidplate to use?
If you have put skidplates on your Rancher, I would like to know what brand and how much you paid so I can get an idea.
Thanks,
Exmxer

PRM-ATV, $100.......easy to put on with floor jack to hold in place start in front of machine.
Quality product. I don't have anything to do with the company. It will make noise when it hits something but it is great piece of mind. If you are in deep mud it will hold some on the top of the plate, need to wash off when you get home. I was worried that the ES wires and other parts of the front of the engine had to little protection. Very happy I did this.

I agree with Buckfever, We have two skid plates from PRM for each of our Hondas. The skid plate from PRM is .250" (1/4") thick aluminum. Some of the other skid plates are .190" (~1/5") thick. No problems or issues with the skid plate on the Rancher. Their web site is www.prm-atv.com.

Buckfever, Snowshark....
Thanks for the advice. I will definately check it out.
Hey Snowshark....Have you been able to ride in any snow yet? I took my son out today, and he had a blast. We cut the ride a little short because of the cold. About an hour and a half was all my little five year old wanted.
Thanks again guys...

exmxer,
I have ridden in the snow but haven't had a chance to take the family. The wife & kid are really wanting to go. It was fun busting through the fresh power when I went.
Hope this year will be a good one for riding.

Check out ATV Charles (not sure the web address), they have the Armadillos (?) for the Rancher. It is plastic, super heavy duty, fits great, noise free, light in weight, black in color. So far it has held up to be playing in the snow right up to rock crawling. Plus it is SUPER easy to install and fairly cheap (I think it was $69 with shipping to MD)

I just got my Armodillo skidplate in and it is great. Noise free and no bending up when hitting rocks and such. It cost 85.00 and that is with shipping included. That is of course you don't live in Alaska, it was a bit more. Ok, a lot more, ouch, but it was worth it.
