3 week old 07 450r back to shop
#1
my 450r is only 3 weeks old and i had to take it to the honda dealer shop b/c i saw some oil leaking from on top of the engine. i couldnt figure out where it was coming from. i talked to the guy at the shop and he said the mechanic found that the oil was coming from the breather hose on the carberauter, which he said is wierd and that they would have to call honda to see about what steps or processes they should take. so anyone with any mechanincal expiercnce can you tell me how you think oil would be coming from the carberatuer breather hose? i mean this quad is only 3 weeks old and its brand new, its still under the 6 month warranty but this pisses me off that a brand new quad back to shop and they dont even know what to do.. and mechanical opinion of how its leaking from there? thank you

my magnum did something similar but it happened when i changed the oil. when i went to clean the air filter their was oil in the airbox the dealer said it was from putting too much oil in the engine thats its from the engines breather and its no big deal . i said it was weird because the oil was black not golden brown he said it may be from the oil coolier because it holds another quart of oil . they may have made a mistake and said carb not engine.

ya im aware that if you over fill the oil that it can over flow out in the air box, but i havent even changed the oil yet. its brand new and the oil is exactly where its supposed to be on the site glass and on the dip stick. and he defiantly meant the carb thats why he said it was so strange
