Rancher 420 performance options?

Rancher 420 performance options?
I tried to look for some bolt on HP for my 420 but there is not a lot I found.
I was looking at a well known Exhaust brands dyno. The HP increase was under 2hp, I was hoping for more at the price they want.
I suppose the engine does not have that more to give with just bolt-ons.
Are there any other mods that can increase the HP of this machine?
Has anyone tried to open up the stock exhaust a little, perhaps fiddle with the baffle you can see down the middle of the pipe, pull the cleaning plug out?
Does removing the airbox on this model add anything?
I ride a CRF450 motocross most of the time and this quad is for my wife but when I take it out I use up all the power and keep wanting more. We would rather keep the 420 than move to another model or brand.
Thanks

Plain and simple....you don't buy a utility trail quad and expect it to go fast! The 420 is no slouch, but there are a bunch of sport quads that will fulfill anybody's need for speed...you should have gotten one of them!
FMF makes the PowerCore IV for the Rancher 350. They might make it for the 420 as well, and just don't have it on the web site yet. There are sensors for the fuel injection in the airbox, so my suspesion is that messing with the airbox is going to mess with the sensors. And, look into remaping the FI.

I know it is not a sport quad but 26 Hp out of a 420cc engine is a little slouchy. The 450 KingQuad makes over 37hp. I was hoping it was so corked at the exhaust/intake that it would have good gains in that dept. once opened up.
Are the exhasut mouning points for the 350 the same as the new 420?
Can any one take a look for me, as I don't know that many other people with ATV's?

The Rancher is tuned for torque not Hp That is why the low 26 hp rating. The stock exhaust is made to enhance low end torque hence the large size of the muffler. My Honda Magna makes 90 hp but it would suck on the trails. No hp until 8000 rpm would make a lot of wheel spin but not much forward movement.

Unlike bikes that are all corked up to pass emissions, there's not so much of that on an ATV.
I find it difficult to believe you want more power out of the 420. My last bike was a KTM Adventure for my 2 wheel fun so I know what off road HP is. Trying to get more ponies out of the Honda just seems silly. Even my wifes Polaris 300 will do almost 50mph. That's pretty fast for a ute quad. How fast do you need to go?
I've yet to go WFO in 5th gear on my 420, so I have no idea what the top speed is. Don't really care. Gets me where I need to go in a quick enough pace...
Sorry - that doesn't answer your question. I almost sound like reconranger <gasp!!>
I know there's FI gizmos out there to adjust the settings, but I seem to recall they run in the $300 range. Not much more you're going to be able to tweak on a FI quad to get it much better that's a simple bolt-on. Sorry charlie.
