Default 300 ex problems

Does anyone know what the deal is when your solenoid just ticks when you try to start it? I just rebuilt my 300 and bored it to a 330 and when I went to start it the solenoid jus ticked. Is it my solenoid? Sherwyn Dirks

Most likely the battery is dead. My 300ex does this often so i just stick it on the charger for a minute and it starts right up.

My 300ex is bored out a little too and I have found that cranking it over drains the battery just a wee bit faster. I keep a marine trickle charger on mine at a real low setting if its gonna be a day or two inbetween uses. Now it starts right up every time with a fresh charge!

Be careful charging the battery without disconnecting it. It can fry the CDI box and they're $$$$$. Been there...Done that. Wish someone had told me.
