new '07 400ex at the local Honda dealer - should I buy it?
Hey guys,
I posted a thread on here recently b/c I was thinking about getting rid of my '88 warrior and stepping up to something newer with a little more power, like the 400ex. Honda has some good incentives going on right now, so I was checking out the local Honda dealers websites. Turns out a dealer has a BRAND NEW (never sold) '07 400ex. They want $3699 for it - that seems like a pretty good deal!... I don't know 'the story' behind it b/c I have not been by or called them. Afraid to b/c I might come home and be like "honey...guess what I just bought"?
How common is this? I know the Honda's are great quads and I am ver surpised they have an '07 model that has never sold.... Just curious if this is common and what I should be on the look out for if I pull the trigger on this thing!
Also, are there any 'quirks' about the '07 models? I have not heard of any, but you guys are the experts!
Thanks!!!

Yes it very common. The market for toys has been slumping for a few years now. It's just now starting to turn around. The 400ex is a great machine and it sounds like a very good price. If I was in the market for one I would go for it. But it never hurts to see if they will go lower. If they've had it for this long they REALLY want it gone.

Honda released a bunch of 07 400ex quads early this year.i picked up one from my local dealer about 5 months ago. They are still brand new and never ran.Your dealer should have gotting it from honda just like a 09 quad.they still have to put it together and set it all up even though it is a 07.Comes with a factory warrenty just like a 09 but a a deep discounted price.Go for it.I did and i am happy.

I looked at the 400ex on Friday. The offer was the 3699 + 199 doc fee + 8.5% sales tax, which came to ~$4,212 OTD. They said the are waiving the destination/assembly/prep fee that is normally charged - which can run around $1,000 they said?....
Afterwards, on the way out the sales guy said since they knew I wasn't buying today (I told them that when I got there).. the 'head honcho' won't do any real negotiating until he believes I am ready to buy right then and there - which I can understand. Anyway...now I am still deciding if I want to pull the trigger on this thing and go back, ready to buy, and negotiate like hell to get the best deal I can!
