Default battery help/oil temp

Hi Im just wondering if anyone knows about charging the battery on my 2000 foreman 450. when I went to charge it there are to red covers rather than a black and red . also should I be charging it or will it self charge if I pull start the machine and let it run. Lastly when I pull start the maching the display flickers in and out and the high oil temp light remains on is this just due to the display being innoperational because of the battery?

thanks again

If the battery is that dead, the charging system will not recover it to a full charge state.
The meter is acting that way because of the battery condition. I would check if the cables are tight, then charge the battery with a charger

Is there a "+" and a "-" beside either cover?

Your negative (-) terminal should have a wire running from it directly to the frame. And the positive (+) terminal should have a wire running to some electrical components.
