What kind of winch is on your quad
#1
Getting ready to purchase a winch. My local shop is telling me to pick from a Warn 3.0, Cycle Country 3,000, or Mile Marker 3,000?
I know Warn is the NAME...are any others as good?
Just trying to see what I need to put on my Rincon.

If you never purchased the quad yet, try and talk a deal. My local honda shop threw in a Warn winch for free and took taxes off the price of the machine. Your shop might do the same. But yeah I never had a problem with the warn. I'd recommend it. No issues with it yet.

I have a 2800 lb Bear Claw winch on my TRX450ES. I prefer the winch to be wired for power off when the key is off. The Bear Claw system is powered all the time, the way it is wired to the solenoid. Plus I didn't like the bulky switch so I converted to the Warn solenoid and switch.
It has gotten one heck of a work out with all the snow we have recieved as I use it for my plow lift. Definately go with the 2500 pound winch or bigger when buying a winch

Warn RT2500 has worked great here. It's the only winch I've ever owned so I can't necessarily compare it to others. I can say that I liked it so much I purchased one for both of my 420s.

I currently have a Warn 2.5 and a 3.0 on my Rubicon and Rancher. In the past, I've owned a Rule and a Superwinch. From my experience, the 3000 LBS Warn is the best way to go in the Warn line due to their construction and pull strength. My Rule was an absolute disappointment due to its cost and reputation. The first winch I owned was the Superwinch and it held up very well considering the mud and water it was always exposed to. After having the two Warns for the past 4 years or so, I will always go with Warn in the future.

I BOUGHT MY 04 POPO WITH A WARN 2.5 AND SO FAR ITS BEEN GREAT BUT BEEING AROUND TOW TRUCKS THROUGHOUT MY LIFE IF I WERE TO BUY NEW IT WOULD BE A RAMSEY 3000 W/SYNTHETIC ROPE!

I've got a 2.5 Warn on the Foreman, which has never failed to pull it out. On the Rincon I went with the Warn xt30. I really like both the remote and the synthetic line, but they are expensive.

I installed a Warn 2.5 with synthetic line on my Rancher. Wasn't sure which winch to buy at the time, but I had read a lot of good things about Warn, even though it cost considerably more than some other brands. Installation took a few hours because it was the first winch I had ever installed. I would think subsequent installations (if there are any) would be somewhat faster!

Warn (300$) on one, Harbor Frieght (49$) on another. The Harbor Freight took a little creative engineering and wiring, but has pulled multiple bikes out for the kids. I do not know if it would stand up to constant use like plowing, but that cheap thing actually works if your stuck.
