need help with clutch

Default need help with clutch

well i figured if anybody would know, you guys would.

this weekend while on a trip to glamis a friend let me use his 400ex(99). during that time i broke the lever that engages/disengages the clutch. the lever or arm is located on the motor.

heres the question or questions rather.

whats the name of the piece i broke?

could this be an expensive fix?

whats involed in taking on the repair myself?

thanks in advance and great forum

Look it up on bikebandits.com under o.e.m. parts may look at right crankcase cover

huh. thats it. thank you

i kept typing in clutch lever on my searches and all i got was results for bar mount levers.

great site. the part wont be nearly as much as i thought it would be.

lesson learned! if aint yours dont ride it...........unless your prepaired to fix it.

Default need help with clutch

Don't forget about the gaskets and the possibility of broken bolts when pulling the side case off to replace it. Unless the part that broke was just the outer peice the holds the cable wire and pivots on the shaft.
