Default 02 Rancher

I have an 02 Rancher ES and at idle it wants to rev a bit to the point where the rpms are too high too shift. And if it does shift it lurches forward which is not good. Usually I just turn it off and on when this happens (all the time). Probably is something simple (I hope). It seems to be ok when coming to a stop but after about 15 seconds it starts to increase rpms.

It runs fine otherwise. It is all stock, I change the oil frequently, but haven't done any other maintenance.

Any help with this?
