Default swamped engine: how many oil changes to clean?

I have an '02 Foreman 450. My son swamped it in deep water. He and the genius he was riding with took awhile to get it stared.....THEN ran it for 2-3 hours more. The oil was very milky.

I dumped the oil and there was 5-6 quarts of milky liquid. I replaced along with filter, and ran it a few minutes, milky again. How many flushes do I have to go thru before it's clean and safe?

Do I have to remove the filter every time ?

THANKS!!

You do not need to change the filter every time. Your looking at no less then 4 oil changes, possibly 5-6 to get it clean. Between oil changes make sure you get the engine up to running temp to drive dirty oil out of hte cooler and passageways. You dont need to use expensive oil to do this, replace the oil with your regular oil and replace the filter once you do an oil change that comes out clean.

thanks action450s. I'll keep flushing it. I was going to use something cheap like 10W30, regular oil. I'll put in 10/40 atv/motorcycle oil when I'm done.

oops, re-read your post. I'll put in ANOTHER filter after the last change!!
