I have an 84 trx200 that the last owner pretty much trashed the engine for.. dont ask....but it needs an engine, amazingly, I have done a lot of google serchs but it seems like it is difficult to find rebuilt/new engines for atvs, especially older shaft drive ones like this. Does anyone know where I can get an engine, and also maybe can someone tell me what engines are interchangeable with this one from other atvs..

Unfortunately, the 1984 200 shaft drive engines were exclusive to that one single year. The only engines that are direct fit to your model is the 1984 TRX200 and the 1984 ATC200ES Big Red threewheeler engines.
There are several chain drive models that had engines which bolt directly into your frame, but to convert your rear suspension to chain drive doesnt make it worth the hassle. Also consider that of all the chain drive engines out there, only the 82-83 200E BigRed had reverse.....which you really need on that ATV with it's small turning radius.

 

understood... so , any suggestions, does anyone know of a company that rebuilds these engines. I gotta do something.
