Anybody ever done anything with the stock tires on the little Recon? My wife loves hers, she can go anywhere I can with my 450, but I'd like to swap the 23" knobbies for 25". I don't have the take-offs from mine anymore, but I'm getting mixed answers on whether or not they will fit without a lift with the Recon's low body style. She doesn't want a lift or anything other than stock tires, but we both agree a little more ground clearance would help. Anybody know if the 25"s will work on the Recon before I go get a set?

 

Hello. I own a 2008 Suzuki Ozark and from what I've read, a small engine like ours may lose some low end power when putting on larger tires. I have also heard that the steering capabilities may be decreased do to the larger size of the tire. Now I'm not positive about this with the Recon but I'm just saying what I have heard. Sorry but I'm not sure if you would need a lift kit or not but the only thing I would worry about is the tire hitting the sides of the floorboards. I don't think they would but you may want to ask someone other than me who actually owns a Honda Recon.

I have a 2000 Recon with 25's. The front has wheel spacers to help with clearance but they can still rub if you're turning sharp and hit a bump. Mine has plenty of go with them but I bought it with the 25's already on there so I really don't know if there was a loss of power.

You could always try it and if they won't work sell them on ebay.

 

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. Buddy of mine just bought a new Foreman, after work I'm gonna put it on blocks and ride down the street with his factorys and see if there's a good or bad difference. If so, I'll get a set. Thanks!
