06 400 Rancher Overheating

Default 06 400 Rancher Overheating

i have a '06 Honda Rancer 400 at and latley it has been overheating after barely driving it for less than 10 min. i have cleaned the radiator countless times and it still doesnt help. Where do i check the coolant at? and what kind should i add if needed? i couldnt find the spot to check the coolant so maybe you can help!

See your owner's manual! Isn't this thing air/oil cooled?????

The 400 At only has an Oil Cooler its not liquid cooled is the fan comming on when it gets hot.

I assume it has an oil temperature light, and that is coming on???? If it is coming on that quick (10 minutes), you may have a short or a problem with the sending unit (do you wallow in the mud?). Like he said, if the fan isn't coming on (assuming the fan is ok as well)....it probably isn't really overheating.

This is not the first time we have seen this problem posted with the 400AT! That poster thought the oil cooler was a radiator as well........

yes the fan is coming on in like 5 or 10 min. the oil light does come on but it takes about 20 or 30 min it is really hot by about 10 though. what should i do? i changed the oil 2 weeks ago.

What kind of oil did you put in it?

Are the cooling fins on the motor clean?

Also, is the oil level full? I believe on that machine it is quite important to let the machine idle for about 3 minutes and sit for 2 before checking the oil without screwing the dipstick in...
