Hey guys...
The strangest thing happened recently....
I changed the oil as I do at least once a year. For the first time, I decided to go with a K&N oil filter this past time. I went riding a couple of days later and, for the first time ever, the ATV is putting out a decent amount of smoke from the exhaust. Could it be related to the oil change and/or the new brand of oil filter? It's smoked some each time I've ridden it since. I do know that it's older, but it has been very well maintained. If you weren't an expert on ATV's you'd never guess it was 20 years old.
Just curious if anyone thinks I've blown a seal/gasket and it's related to the oil change.
How difficult would it be for a weekend warrior kind of guy to rebuild it himself?
Blessings to you all!

It could be excessive carbon buildup in the combustion chamber causing the rings to stick , try mixing your fuel with Sea Foam and ride it untill you have to refill the fuel tank again ; i had to do this to my 88' GMC S1500 Jimmy MPV that had started smoking after it warmed up !
It's worth a try the Sea Foam did the trick on my Jimmy , you can get Sea Foam at any Auto Parts Store ; and at most WalMart Super Centers there's complete mixing instructions on the can !
Good luck , i hope this works for you ; and welcome to the forums !.....
