Interesting. Is honda experiementing with these or something recon?

I found a couple good articles. From Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin-clutch_gearbox "The outer clutch drives the odd numbered gears, while the inner clutch drives the even numbered gears. Shifts can be accomplished without interrupting power, by applying the engine's torque to one clutch just as the engine's torque is being disconnected from the other clutch."

And a how it works at http://auto.howstuffworks.com/...utch-transmission.htm.

Hopefully a Rincon with a similar 5 speed auto (to include low gears) is yet to be announced, but I'm not holding my breath...

If honda has added the technology that VW & Audi have been using in their DSG auto trannies they they have just blown every other tranny out of the water with a home run.

itrs maybe like a car transmission, you can put a car in drive and the 3 speed will change automatically but you can also but it in 1 and 2.

yes i know they do that in the rincon but its just a 3 speed, not a 5. but the old bombardier traxter was semi-auto 5 speed but you can put in in automatique mode thats maybe the same systeme that honda will use.

interesting. cant wait to read the reviews on it from people on here. I hope they pulled it off then. i bought a non ES 4x4 08 today to avoid the higher prices of the 09s. couldnt pass it up - $4599 brand new, was just put together yesterday! thats the cheapest bike ive bought in 8 yrs and will probably get the most use out of it. def the best bang for the ATV buck going today. just wish it had a disc brake in the back...
