I am considering purchasing a snow plow for my Honda rancher 400AT. Can anyone with experience tell me what size of a blade I should look at. Maybe the Rancher 400 AT can't handle it .....I don't know. I know they are a little lacking in power. I was thinking a 48 inch blade. Any ideas or comments

You should be safe with a 48" blade, most bikes dont need alot of power for plowing as your going to spin the tires more then strain them. If you have alot of snow the key to plowing is to go out frequently during the storm to keep ahead of it, or not to push a blade full of snow every pass.

 

I also have a 400 rancher at and it dont have the power to pull it self without burning clutches up. Have you had a tranny problem out of yours?
Mine is a 06 and its on its third hondamatic. the machine only hac 569 miles on it.

 

I have a 2004 400 it has 12,000 km on it with not one problem yet i have been using a 48" plow for 3 years now with no problem pushing snow of any depth.
