Default Reverse override modification

I just bought a 2005 Honda Foreman and heard there were some mods you could do to override the reverse button to keep from having to depress it each time.

Do any of you know how to do this and does it damage anything?

Thanks,
Marti

Default Reverse override modification

Welcome to the forum.

If I recall correctly I think I read that you can adjust the cable adjuster so that you don't have to push the button?

Anyhow, personally, I just got used to it, and you get to where you are fast and don't even think about it after a while. Also, I'd be afraid I'd smash the thing into reverse while still moving forward and just trying to stomp down gears into N...

Default Reverse override modification

you took an old arrow shaft cut a section 1/4 inch or so and a slit down side. pull the brake witht he reverse button down. slip it on the cable for the reverse (the bottom one). crimp closed so cant come off. that keeps the reverse part of the brake held open all the time just be carefull and make sure you come to complete stop before shifting in to reverse.
