TEXMud- Really nice web page. Like the pictures. I also found the close-ups of the winch mounting to be helpful..Keep up the good work.

Mounted my solenoid in a location suggested from a prior posting. Under the right, rear fender you will find the frame tube. It has bolts running through to the plastic body.

I used one of these bolts on the right "ear" of the mounting bracket on the solenoid. The left "ear" I installed a bolt through the plastic into the storage box.

This position mounts the solenoid up high, away from most tire "slop". Yes, if you fully submerse the ATV past the top of the fenders, this will cover the solenoid. I myself never see that happening, and feel the solenoid can take a dunking, just not a long term drowning.

The wiring harness fell into place alone the top frame tube, along the right side of the gas tank. Any extra cable to the battery will fit neatly alongside the battery, and extra cable to the winch can be looped under the front part of the frame near the fan.

Drilled the hole for the switch connector along side of the 12 VDC lighter socket.

Hope this helps...

I noticed in 1 of the magazine reviews of the Rubicon they mounted their solenoid in the air box and sealed around it. They had a picture of it and it looked ok if you don't mind puncturing and sealing your air box. As for the rear storage box mine stays wet with moisture and condensation and may not be the best place in the long run. I live in a high humidity env. that may have a lot to do with it.

Well its finally done. It took me more about 5 hours to complete. I had to run the wiring 3 different times to get it to my liking. Thanks for the input, the solenoid was mounted in the trunk.
