Default 420 rearend clicking

66 miles 16-17hrs, oil is factory, looks normal, filled to the bottom of the fill hole, bike is clean. Seems to pop only after trailering it to the camp 250miles away. Pops loud enough to hear it over the engine if you listen for it. Seems to pop more at low speeds and slowing down (1st gear). Pops at the same location on every revolution. It will stop popping after about 1 mile of riding or if you take it back to the dealer (they said bring it back when it's broke). If you shut the bike off and push/pull it, you can hear/feel it pop. Louder when pulling it backwards. Happened last time I took it to the camp as well. Trailering for extended periods is the only common thing I can see.....

Ideas????

Thanks

I have the same exact thing going on with mine. Took it to the dealer and it wasn't doing it then......he said if it gets worst bring it back. Had it almost 1yr and hasn't got any louder. It does seem to quit after riding it for awhile......seems to me it sounds like its in the rearend chunk....please repost if you find anything out.

Trailering it ? Are you talking about hauling it?

Same thing here.
Bought my wife a 420TE in July. Her's will do it in 3, 4 , or 5th gear. Called dealer and told him about it. Said will just ride it till I bring it in for 20 hour check-up. If it breaks, it is still under warrentee. Still makeing the noise, but seems to now only do it in 4th or 5th gear at speed. Going in next week for 20 hour check up.

Well, loaded the bike in the back of my truck instead of the trailer and drove the 250 miles. Strapped it down with the pull straps instead of rachet straps on my trailer. No clicking noises or any problems this trip. Previous 2 trips it clicked after pulling it off the trailer. Think the problem might be linked to strapping it down to the trailer. Still confused though..........
