I can put my truck in reverse going down the freeway....doesn't mean that it's a good idea!!!</end quote></div>
no you can't
if you have a manual you could never get it into reverse and if you have an auto, they have safety's that prevent the transmission from actually going into reverse. The lever may go but the truck won't shift.

U would be surprised what i have had drug into the shop at times.
had a 5spd that someone forced into reverse lol
and an auto that someone "hit a bump" and it went into reverse at 75mph
let me just tell you those shafts dont like high speed drive to reverse changes.

lol ! ! !
Putting a truck into reverse on the interstate is way different than shifting the sub trans of a rubicon while in motion...
The lo to hi shift isn't any different than shifting a 5 6 7 9 10 13 15 18 or 20 speed commercial truck transmission which have all been around for 50 years....

You know, I seem to recall seeing on Mythbusters they went after some of these scenarios. They took a car driving at 50mph and shifted it into reverse. Nothing broke.

you can't actually get it into reverse, i am not saying it will not do damage trying but you will not be able to get the gears to shift into reverse at highway speeds, manual or auto, doesn't matter.

So you Don't thing it'll go into R from d well. . .
your Right i have only seen 2 automotive trans missions allow a D to r shift the 2.3L ford 4cylinders C-4 trans will do it and the 86 nissan short bed regular cab with thw 2.4L with auto trans. . .
thats only because they were equiped with a stall out torque convert that i put in them for stunt driving. . .
only the police car come with a stall out converter from the factory as they need to change directions fast. . .
your every day Vehilce will not aloow the shift a manual wil grind and not go ito gear and by some fluke it dose pop in it'll instantly jump back out. . .
