Default 2001 Foreman ES will not shift in cold.

If it sits in freezing temp, not running, for a period of time it will not shift. After the temp rises it shifts normal. I took in to my dealer for service they could not duplicate the problem even though they kept it in a cold area. Any help appreciated.

Try different grade oil for cold weather, like a 5w. It does not thicken up in the cold like a 10w grade.

iv heard of moisture getting in to the angel sensor and locking it up(if it freezes). so i put dielectric grease on mine and never had a moisture problem

Thanks for the advice on dielectric grease. That makes sense; I'll give it a try
