ATV weights. why?
The heavest 500 Utility ATV made is a 500 Sportsman at 690-720 lbs depending on year, thats much heavier than most Big bore ATVs, yet besides the Outlander 500 no 450-500cc utility ATV can keep up to it in a straight drag and criuse at its 55mph + top end.
Motor size is not HP
A 500 Outy has 39hp
A SP500 is 35hp
A 500 Foreman is 27 hp
Got weight ,add power, problem solved.

foreman hp is not a problem(atleast 4 me), but the gearing is the limiting factor! agreeded its weight vs. hp. but a heavy mechine at high speeds handles wonderfully! like cars from before the 90's, when they where made of something called metal.

I think it all comes down to what will be your main use for a quad. For me, that's hauling wet fresh cut firewood down a 35 degree hill up in VT. That's with a loaded 4x4 foot trailer on the back of my X2. If I had a lighter quad it wouldn't be as firmly "planted" as my heavy one. I did tow with the Kawasaki Lakota 300 I had with one of those Sears lawn tractor trailers (otherwise known as poorly made) and it had a hard time with that small trailer that can hold a 1/4 the weight my new trailer holds. If I lived in the desert areas I probably would have opted for a sportier machine.

I found it odd that both of my grizzlies weigh within a few lbs of each other. The 660's dimensions are about an inch larger in all directions including ground clearance. The tires are the same but the 660 wheels are aluminum. Being 6' tall, the 660 fits me more comfortably than the 450 so the external dimensions belie the riding dimensions.
