My first wheeler like some others was a trx125. mine was an 85. that was one hell of a machine. i got it for christmas day many years ago. it was used but in excellent condition. it had 22in. brand new buckshot mudders on the back. that thing would go through anything!!! i think about it everytime i see snow cause thats where it ran best. it would go through more snow than my old arctic cat kitty cat. i was goin throught places where my friends blaster was getting stuck. according to the great pennsylvania state police i was clocked going 46mph 5th gear (actually 4th what i called 1st was actually low) wide open on a dirt road slightly downhill. by the time i sold it for parts it had a burn transmission, busted to hell plastic, broke frame (16 cracks) bent tie rods, all 4 tie rod ends were junk, bent bars, busted footpegs, bent axle, and just about everything else. i had it rebuilt once in its time and it went through about 4 sets of chain and sprockets and 6 sets of brake pads

It had something like 11/48 gearing and not much power. Man theres no way that a honda 125 could keep up with a suki 125. The suzuki's were just plain faster. My brothers 125 suki kept up with my honda 200sx.
the Honda had a throttle limiter, anything 125cc and below had one, with the Exception of the ATC 90, and possibly some ATC 110s. They can go up to 40 with the limiter adjusted all the way out. Great for kids starting out. Possibly yours was adjusted in. Also, they were always faster than what the manual claimed, my ATC 185S is Rated at 40, yet it's been clocked at 53 mph.

I dunno about the Suzuki, but I don't think it did, my buddy's LT125 did not.

Default 125 TRX top speed

My 1986 125TRX is completely stock and I have installed a digital GPS speedometer and will run over 40mph with me on it at 205 lbs.
