Default Back AGAIN!! Honda Rancher Valves Question.

Hey guys, im here to ask about the same ol honda rancher 350 4x4,2004 model of my ol ladys. i recently put some bigger tires on there and now when i get in a higher gear, obviously it lost a lil power but after it warms up the valves will start to clank in higher gears if i give it to much throttle, so in mud, trails it must be in 1st hear to iliminate the clank noise, buddy of mine at honda place said valves seem to be adjusted right, anything else i could to to maybe quiten them or stop this? is there some type of lube or gas treatmeant that would help at all? just asking fellas.

Thanks Jon Michael

I run Klotz Octane Booster in everything all the time. The slight increase in octane gives insurance against ever getting detonation, but more important it has an ester synthetic lube for the top end (valves!), a fuel preservative and a moisture absorber.

Hard to say without listening to it, but if the noise comes on at higher throttle/load and lower RPM it may be pinging and need higher octane.

It could also be the cam chain has a stiff link, cam chain tensioner...
