head light upgrade

Default head light upgrade

i have a 400ex with a stock electrical system and am thinking of putting hid lights in. will i need to change anything or would the stock set up still keep up?

I never messed with a 400ex but I installed HID on my Rancher 420. If your 400ex headlight bulb are the same as a automotive bulb then your lucky! It will be an easy install. If not then you would have to mod the HID bulb to fit into the headlamp housing like I did with the Rancher 420. Also you would have to install a separate wiring system for the HID light with a ON/OFF Switch and a inline fuse because the Factory light switch does not supply enough power and amp to handle the HID. It would just keep blowing the fuse if you try to use the factory switch (the thing is every HID kit is different and pull different AMP.) Trust me the upgrade is worth it though!!!
