Guys, I need help. I'm new to the ATV world, but I have a Harley and am familiar with efi programmers. I sold my duckboat and gonna use this atv to haul equipment to various duckblinds in the Mississippi delta. It is a 08 Rancher 420 4x4. I put on ITP wheels and tires, rack extenders, winch, receiver hitch, etc. I thought I was done with the customizing, and put a bid on a HMF Exhaust on EBAY, and won it. I really don't want the exhaust, but figured if I could get a good deal, what the heck. With Harleys, when you add after market exhaust, you need to add a hi-flo air filter and an efi programmer. I have a Vance and Hines fuelpak on my Harley. I like the plug and play simplicity of it. I assume the same holds true with efi atv's? I'm looking for suggestions as to programmers, and airfilters. I'm looking for something simple. Don't want to have to plug a laptop up to it. All suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

 

Check HMF, they offer a programmer to go with their pipes.

Where are you located?

I am in Northern Mississippi and the Honda dealer here tunes ATV/motorcycles/etc for $160. I'm pretty sure they strap it down to the dyno so you know your exact horsepower numbers.

Maybe a Honda dealer near you does the same thing?

 

What would be the consequences if I didn't add a programmer, and just ran it with the exhaust?
