Reserve problems

My ATV shifts fine from 1st gear to 5th, but it won't shift into reverse. The bike is ES so i cant do anything as far as a foot lever. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be wrong and what i could do?

I'll guess the wire was off the reverse switch ..

Yes, it was the wire, but mud had got in there and messed it up so it wasnt getting a connection.
